The Advocacy Partnership Project is a program of The Arc of Washington State and is funded by the Washington State Developmental Disabilities Council. Through this valuable program we work to increase advocacy participation of individuals with developmental disabilities, their families/guardians and other community members. Each year more and more people are becoming involved in public policy issues that affect them, an increasing number of groups are partnering together, and legislators and other policy-makers are being better informed regarding the need for services for people with developmental disabilities.

The primary outcome of this project is our Advocacy Days, held weekly during each legislative session. We assist people with a developmental disability and their family members with learning about issues that affect them, talk to their legislators, write messages for policy-makers, provide testimony during legislative committee hearings about bills and budget proposals and so much more!
We make it easy for you to get involved! Legislators WANT to hear your story. They hear a lot from lobbyists who are paid to represent companies, corporations, unions and more. But what they want to know most is how their decisions will affect YOU, their constituent (a voter who lives in their district.
