Become a Member

The Arc of Washington State’s grassroots membership is one of our greatest strengths.

The Arc of Washington State has been a member-based organization since our formation in 1936. When you become a Member of The Arc, it means that you’re saying ‘Count me in. I’m an advocate for disability rights.’

By signing up, you are joining the ranks of a powerful grassroots movement that is family-focused and person-centered.

What do Members do?

As a Member, you will receive communications from The Arc inviting you to use your voice, attend events, gather in community, and give feedback on our continued advocacy efforts.

Working together, we advocate to promote the self-sufficiency, independence and inclusion of children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) in education, employment, and community living.

With our collective voice, we can accomplish our VISION:

For people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to be valued members of their communities, with the opportunity to achieve their full potential and a future that is secure.

To make this vision a reality, we center our Core Values and Guiding Principles in all that we do in our organization.

How does membership work?

Membership is free. It only requires completing the Membership form. Membership is not required to participate in any programming provided by The Arc.

Members of local, county-based chapters of The Arc automatically receive Membership in the state and national chapters of The Arc. Membership in The Arc of the United States also includes discounted registration to The Arc’s National Convention and access to exclusive insurance coverage rates.
