The Rehabilitation Services Administration recently released a summary of the utilization of vocational rehabilitation dollars in the Fiscal Year 2021:
- $299 Million was returned from states
- $122 Million was reallocated
- $178 Million to go into the Disability Innovation Fund*
We know this past year has been challenging, and many states were unable to draw down their full vocational rehabilitation (VR) state grants dollars! *The purpose of the Disability Innovation Fund (DIF) Program, as provided by the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2015 (Pub. L. 113-235), is to support innovative activities aimed at improving the outcomes of “individuals with disabilities,” as defined in section 7(20)(A) of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended by title IV of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
