Milestones in Disability History: The Respectful Language Act

10 years ago, a coalition of advocates decided to do something about the derogatory labels used to describe people with disabilities. They called it The Respectful Language Act. What they did had never been done before.
This story belongs to them, but it also belongs to every citizen who has a right to speak up and make change happen, regardless of income, status, appearance, or political influence.
