2018 Election Candidates
People with developmental disabilities electing policy-makers using Informed Decision-making
The Arc of Washington State is a non-profit organization that has advocated on behalf of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families since 1936.
The Arc does not endorse any candidates, but is committed to educating individuals, families and other community members about the issues that affect their lives to help enable them to make informed decisions.
Each election cycle, The Arc of Washington State creates a short questionnaire regarding policy and budget issues of concern to people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities which is emailed to all congressional and Legislative candidates in Washington State. For each candidate who responds, their answers to the questions are then posted to our web site and the public can read those responses by clicking on the candidate's name in the links posted below.
If you are a candidate, you can respond to the Candidate Questionnaire by clicking here.
If your district's candidates have not responded to the questionnaire, their phone numbers and email addresses are in the documents below for you to contact them and ask them to respond.
Below are links to documents providing information on candidates running for Congressional offices and for Legislative offices. This information was compiled from the Washington Secretary of State's web site (as of 5/24/18) and can be found by clicking here.
For each race, the incumbent (person currently holding that office) is highlighted in yellow on the charts. Each district can cover all or part of a county. Some cover multiple counties. If a county name is followed by an asterisk (*), this means that district covers only part of that county.
